A crazed scientist murders his wife, walls her up, then flees. A reporter sets out to track him down. This was Paul Wegener's first talkie film and he plays an evil inventor and during his flee from the law, dramatizes a number of short horror stories from Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat, Paul Leni's Waxworks, Poe's The System of Dr. Tarr and Robert Lewis Stevenson's The Suicide Club. A number of people who love old horror movies have been asking us to provide more rare gems. This is one of them, a 1932 German film. By the way, we wanted to point this out: this print has no English subtitles and is not English dubbed. But if you know the stories, you'll be able to follow along quite easily.
